May 2025 - AIBlockmind Block DevManage Set Using Official Private Key - $266k (Global)
The AiBlockmind is a smart contract which was created at address 0x79e0a8c2d4d67f89579fb983ebcb54c3df9082ab on March 5th, 2025. The project had been actively promoted since February 16th.
Unfortunately, the project was either malicious or failed to secure their private key.
A new wallet was granted the "DevManage" permissions in the smart contract. This was used to mint additional Block tokens, which could then be sold in the market for profit.
Losses were reported by TenArmor as $266.3k USD.
Third party security firms Tikkala and TenArmor noticed and made posts about the activity. The reaction in the wider market appears minimal.
The Aiblockmind account presently appears to have all content related to the project removed.
There is no evidence that any funds have been recovered, or any recovery is presently being attempted.
The Twitter/X account still appears to exist. There doesn't appear to be any sort of investigation into the incident.
