"I simply put Ether from Coinbase wallet to a meta wallet and within 30 minutes there was someone that sent all tether (Less 56 cents) to some random address. I read online that that actually happens to a lot of people. I'm done with crypto. I'm sticking with FDIC insured money from now on."

"I can tell you with a fair degree of certainty, in that case, that it wasn't a Metamask new wallet that you sent it to. It was an imposter site that you fell for and the money you sent went to some scammers wallet posing as yours.
You must not jump into crypto without at least doing the ground work research of being secure, setting up correctly and transferring without mistakes."
Further Analysis
Boxman212 searched on Google and downloaded MetaMask using the first available link. After setting up a new wallet in MetaMask, he withdrew his funds from Coinbase. Instantly, the funds were transfered to a scammer. It was at that point, he posted on Reddit and it was determined that he had clicked on a sponsored search result on Google which led to a malicious application that pretends to be MetaMask but instead steals deposited funds.

I think the protection of your crypto should be a number one priority. People push coins but don't tell you how to protect yourself. You wouldn't walk around with 100k in your wallet so why would you do that with a crypto wallet? It is less safe. I jus... (Dec 31)
