We are a Social Enterprise

This means our primary objective is not profits but accomplishing social change. In our case, we want to put in place a token project to assist affected users in rebuilding their lives and see Proof of Reserves widely available to prevent future exchange fraud. You can learn more about the background of our team below.

Matt M

Matt has lived in Calgary his whole life, running businesses and programming since the age of 10. He's a recent graduate of the University of Calgary in a business and computer science double major, and currently manages the software team (6 students) at a small Calgary IoT startup. Past business experiences include a window cleaning franchise across 6 communities, a popular concession stand, and a free web host serving over 10,000 clients.

He first got involved with cryptocurrency in 2017. Prior to that, he'd done a ton of research but never actually invested. While his losses in Quadriga are significant, they certainly aren't life-changing. He couldn't stay away, feeling compelled to spend the next 6-7 months in pursuit of ideas that would eventually become Quadriga Initiative.

Ethan Burnside

Ethan recently moved with his family to Vancouver. He founded his first company, Kattare Internet Services as a sophomore in college at Oregon State University in 1997. Kattare specialized in website design and hosting and grew rapidly through the internet boom years. After promoting his close friend Nick Hayward to CEO, Ethan moved on to help launch Bingo Blitz as VP, Live Technology at Buffalo Studios, a Santa Monica start-up later acquired by Playtika. During his tenure at Buffalo Studios & Playtika Ethan worked on Caesars Total Rewards Social, Bingo Blitz, Bingo Rush, Bingo Rush 2, Faro Blitz, & Penguinauts games. It was while he was at Buffalo Studios in 2012 that Ethan also launched BTC Trading Corp, arguably the most secure, most trustworthy, and most advanced Cryptocurrency exchange available at the time.

Ethan posted a very similar idea on Reddit and has been a continual supporter of the initiative and precursor ideas for months.

Luis B

Luis is an entrepreneur and father of 2 from Montreal. He has a bachelor and masters in business administration from Sherbrooke University. He has previously been a financial advisor, previously worked 10 years in a marketing role at a retail store, and is presently working full time in public administration. He has a small business repairing computers.

Luis originally invested in crypto in 2017, using a mix of exchanges including GDax, Kraken, Binance, an OTC exchange, and of course Quadriga. His losses are certainly not his life savings.

Luis was one of the earliest sign-ups. Despite his incredibly busy life, he still finds time to contribute incredible ideas and insights to push the project forward.

@kenmacd

Kenny M

Kenny is a software developer from Halifax, with 15 years experience, specializing in security. Kenny's programming history has been mostly a combination of C, Ragel, Python, and Lua.

Kenny spent over 5 years working for Arbor Networks writing C code that ran on boxes in the majority of the worlds largest ISPs. It did DDoS mitigation. He also spent a couple years with the same doing malware analysis reverse engineering with IDA.

For the last 5 years, Kenny worked for a company that was acquired by Trend Micro writing Runtime Application Self-Protection (RASP) software. It's basically an engine that runs inside a webapp to protect against vulnerabilities (sqli. rce, etc) using mostly Python and Lua.

Kenny was the first sign-up, at the first available opportunity, back when the initiative was nothing more than a Reddit post and a simple website.

Eric S

Eric has been an entrepreneur since 2008 and in the blockchain space since early 2013. He lost everything on Quadriga, his entire life savings for 6 years. After 3 months of disbelief and depression, he discovered the initiative and met with our team on Telegram.

Eric has strong belief in the future of bitcoin, the potential of the blockchain, and the power of our community. As one of the first individuals with significant losses to sign up, his feedback and support of our initiative has been an invaluable source of strength.

If you have any further questions, you can meet our team on Telegram by joining our Telegram group, or you can send email enquiries to info@quadrigainitiative.com.
